Alma was the first easy-to-use, all-in-one student information system and learning management system. From the beginning, our mission was to help educators spend more time with students and to provide better insights to keep kids from falling between the cracks.
EdTech software is notoriously tedious and difficult to use, and we wanted to change that. My goal as a designer was to drastically simplify complex, enterprise level software into an easy-to-use SaaS platform that worked for a number of different roles (school and district administrators, teachers, parents, students), while still being flexible enough to support dozens of school types and setups.
In my first 8-weeks with Alma, I worked directly with the head of product & engineering to bring our MVP to life - over 300 screens and 30 user flows later, we were in production with six core products and onboarding clients! As Head of Design, I also designed and developed our first marketing site, created our design system & style guide, worked with the CEO & marketing team to define brand strategy, and oversaw the growth of the product design team.

Over the past 10 years, Alma has won awards for the cutting-edge digital report card creator, visual attendance taker, data visualization and was even named Best SIS of 2020. Administrators continue to rave about how easy it is to setup, and teachers love the insights brought forward through data visualization.
